Welcome to Parish Library

Parish library

St. Vladimir's has a growing collection of materials in its parish library. These include books, DVDs, periodicals, and other items in both English and Russian. Items in the collection are arranged by language and category on Google documents. Click on the links to open individual tables to see what's available.

Library location

Unfortunately, the parish library does not have a physical home currently. Once the new church is built, a section of the old building will house the library. In the meantime, we want our materials to circulate. Most of the items are in the basement of the home of parish librarian, John Hill. Circulating items found on Google docs are available for borrowing. Refer to the Circulation policy for details. A printed copy of the collection is also available at church. Inquire at the kiosk. This copy will be less up-to-date.

Circulation policy

In order to check out books, please apply for borrowing privileges. Click here for the form. Current members of St. Vladimir's have unrestricted borrowing privileges for circulating items. Non-members can check out one item at a time. We urge those who are not members of the parish to become members. To renew your membership or to become a new member please contact our membership coordinator: Vasiliy Krivtsov (vasiliy.krivtsov@gmail.com or 734-669-8712). We cordially invite you to join our parish family!

Going to Russia?

Can you bring back a parcel of books for the library and/or the kiosk? Typically prices are substantially lower for titles purchased in Russia and the selection is much better. Unless you volunteer to transport a heavier parcel, it should run 5-6 lbs. or under. Contact John or Fr. Gregory if you'd like to help.

Wish list

Would you like to donate something but aren't sure what? Take a look at the library wishlist. [link] This is list a specific titles needed for the collection including books, periodicals and multimedia materials in both Russian and English. Take a look. Perhaps you'll see something you'd like to read. You can be the first to check out that item when it's ready to circulate. Or you can sponsor a periodical subscription or an ongoing series.
